Amazon Prime Video's live-action adaptation of 'God of War' has found its Atreus in Callum Vinson. The young actor will star alongside Ryan Hurst as Kratos, Atreus' father, in the highly anticipated series. Additional cast members include Max Parker as Heimdall, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson as Thor, Mandy Patinkin as Odin, Alastair Duncan as Mimir, and Danny Woodburn and Jeff Gulka as the brothers Brok and Sindri. The series will explore the story of Kratos and his ten-year-old son Atreus, who must navigate their relationship and embark on a journey to spread their mother's ashes. Atreus, raised in isolation in a remote forest cabin, is an accomplished archer with a deep connection to nature and a thirst for knowledge beyond his surroundings. After his mother's death, he struggles with a distant father who knows little about him, yet he yearns for his father's approval and seeks to prove his strength. Callum Vinson's previous credits include Amazon's 'Dead Ringers' and shows like 'Long Bright River' and 'Poker Face' at Peacock, as well as 'FBI: International' at CBS. He will also appear in the third season of 'The Night Agent' and the 'Friday the 13th' prequel 'Crystal Lake' at Peacock. The 'God of War' series has been given a two-season order, with pre-production underway in Vancouver. Ronald D. Moore, known for his work on 'Battlestar Galactica' and 'Outlander', serves as the writer, executive producer, and showrunner. The series is a collaboration between Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios, with Tall Ship Productions and PlayStation Productions involved.
